The E92 3-Series convertible is BMW 's first model with a retractable hardtop. BMW says this convertible is the perfect car for two-person backroad vacation adventures whenever the weather permits. Built on the same chassis and with the same engine choices as the 3-Series coupe, it gives up just a little weight and luggage room in return for the fun of top-down motoring in an all-season automobile.
                                    2012 BMW 3 Series Convertible 335is Specification

The only variation between the 328i and 335i models is in the power plant. The 328i uses BMW's normally aspirated 3.0-liter inline six, offering 230 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 200 foot-pounds of torque at 2,750 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a standard six-speed manual transmission; a six-speed automatic with rapid-action Steptronic gear selection is optional.

The 335i has a new N54 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder with a single twin-scroll turbocharger, high-precision fuel injection, and an all-aluminum crankcase, pushing the car to 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds. The motor produces 300 horsepower at 5,800 rpm. Peak toque is 300 pound-feet, available from a mere 1,200 rpm, all the way up to 5,000 rpm.

Just a few months before the car’s official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, BMW has decided it was time to reveal the official specs on the fifth generation M5 sports sedan. After seeing the first concept version at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show, now we can see the M5 in all its glory. And we sure like what we are seeing.

2012 BMW M5 Is Ready To Blow You Away

The M5 name was used for the first time back in 1984, but since then, the car has evolved into an impressive sedan that combines track potential with the comprehensive practicality of a luxurious business sedan. The new generation brings a high-revving 4.4-liter V8 engine with an M TwinPower Turbo package that delivers an impressive 560 hp at 6,000 – 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 502 lb-ft from 1,500 rpm. The model will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and, when the speed limiter is removed, is capable of hitting an impressive top speed of 190 mph. Despite these impressive performance numbers, the car will deliver an estimated fuel economy of 28.5 mpg.

It seems that with the new M5, BMW tried to repair all the damages made by the 5-Series. Where the standard sedan failed to impress, the M version does exactly the opposite. It comes with dynamic proportions and stylishly authoritative appearance that has been further enhanced by the addition of M-specific design features.

2012 BMW M5 Is Ready To Blow You Away

The interior continues the same sporty design language started by the exterior: it will get M sports seats, fine-grain Merino leather upholstery with extended features, door sills with “M5” lettering, an M driver’s footrest, exclusive Aluminum Trace interior trim strips, and the BMW Individual roof liner in Anthracite. Standard equipment will include an iDrive control system with an up to 10.2-inch Control Display.

The buttons on the steering wheel will allow the drive to operate the cruise control system and the audio and telephone functions. On the left-hand steering wheel spoke, the driver will now find two M Drive buttons, which can be used to configure the car. For example, the driver can save a sporty configuration using the "M1" button and a comfort-biased set-up via the "M2" button.

2012 BMW M5 Is Ready To Blow You Away

For the first time in a BMW M5 the company has used a turbocharged engine. The high-revving 4.4 liter V8 unit with M TwinPower Turbo technology delivers a total of 560 HP at 6,000 – 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 502 lb-ft between 1,500 and 5,750 rpm. The rev limiter intervenes at 7,200 rpm. Compared to the engine it replaces, this mean an output increase of about 10% and peak torque increased by 30%.

2012 BMW M5 Is Ready To Blow You Away

With this impressive output under the hood, the new M5 will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in in 4.4 seconds, to 124 mph in 13.0 seconds, while top speed is limited to 155 mph. But once you have removed the limiter you will enjoy a speed of up to 190 mph.

Now that the F80 M3 sedan has been given the greenlight, our spies have spotted the F80 M3 continuing its public road testing. While the camouflage on the F80 prototype remains the same as before, we've got some more angles to share with you - a slightly higher-down look than before. The F80 M3 continues to show off its attractive proportions and shape, while looking more aggressive and 'beefier' than the standard F30 3 series due to its widened wheel arches, M styled front and rear bumpers and sideskirts, and quad exhaust. It does not yet show the sportier mirrors that the production version F80 will receive.

BMW F80 M3 Sedan : awesome , Your Dream Car
By combining spyshots with insider input and some BMW M styling this is the result. The F80 M3 is said to be much like a mini M5 and rumored to get a V6 turbocharged powerplant. We can’t wait to get more news on this car from Munich, but for now enjoy these renderings!

Finished in gray, the new M3 shows a number of details that we’ve come to expect from the Bavarian go-fast division.

BMW F80 M3 Sedan : awesome , Your Dream Car
Despite the fact that the base 3-Series has grown is size, the extra folds and creases make it look more sporty than ever before. At he front, we are greeted by a pair of huge intakes on either side, but no bonnet bulge. That’s because the car is believed to be powered by a 3.3-liter V6 with twin turbos based on the 4.4-liter V8 in the M5. Output should be about 450 hp, though BMW might decide to squeeze some extra juice.

BMW F80 M3 Sedan : awesome , Your Dream Car
The new 3-Series Seadna has finally shown its face, and this means that graphics designers from across the world had the weekend at their disposal to include all the little production details into what will eventually become the F30 M3 sedan.

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the original BMW 328 classic of the late 1930s auto brand BMW has unveiled their unique 328 Hommage Concept car. It’s based on the Vision Connected Drive Concept shown at Geneva this year. The 328 Hommage will employ a straight six-cylinder powerplant and the familiar kidney-shaped BMW grille stretched upright in dramatic fashion. The interior and exterior make heavy use of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic and there are no doors – just deep recesses. In a nod to the racing heritage of the original 328 the car is extremely light, weighing in at just 1,719 pounds. “With the BMW 328 Hommage, we wish to pay homage to the passion and inventiveness of the fathers of the BMW 328. They created an icon, which is considered a milestone in the history of the automobile.” said Karl Bäumer, CEO of BMW Group Classic.

The roadster combines design elements of the company's recent Vision ConnectedDrive concept with elements from the company's kidney-grille past. All of that is wrapped up in plenty of carbon fiber, with an interior of creamy café au lait leather. Note too the ex'd out headlamps, connecting the old racecar tape trick to its high-tech presence.

The two-part light alloy wheels pay tribute to the characteristic hole pattern of the original car's rims. Like its racecar antecedents, a minimalist dash cluster holds only a tachometer and gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure and water temperature.

BMW has announced that production of the sixth-generation 3 Series has officially begun at its Munich manufacturing facility. The automaker invested around €500 million – over $700M USD – in the plant in preparation for the new model; a move that BMW says secured around 9,000 jobs. A portion of those funds went toward the purchase of a new press that can operate at speeds of up to 17 strokes per minute and process up to 600 tons of steel per day. The automaker says that the machine can handle the equivalent of all of the metal in the Eiffel Tower in just 12 days.

It’s not very often that a smaller vehicle is a company’s flagship, but we don’t care what BMW might tell you about the 7-Series, the 3-Series is the automaker’s top dog. Its styling has always worked and never been vulgar like some other models in the BMW lineup and it’s won more awards from the automotive press than the Los Angeles Lakers.

The new technology is part of the recipe that BMW says will allow the plant to produce around 680 units per day in as little as three months from the start of production. That figure will place the plant's total output at over 900 units per day. Surprisingly enough, that volume occurs in a space of just 700,000 square feet across five floors, making for an incredibly dense work space. Hit the jump for the press release.

This project is limited to a few high-end performance parts – H&R suspension, BBS wheels, Brembo Big Brakes and Continental tires. These brands are a perfect fit for this one of a kind vehicle. The associations of these products are easily recognized as the best of the best. Working with these well-known tuning companies adds to the uniqueness of the BMW 1M Coupe while retaining its true character.

The BMW 1M Coupe has and is being compared with the original (E30) M3, the car that defined the boy racer! The new 1M Coupe continues this heritage. Just one look tells you this is a very special car. It is a small car with huge wheels and tires to take advantage of the power and handling that is on tap. Its extremities bristle with aerodynamic features which sole purpose is to reduce turbulence and increase downforces creating a driving machine that slips through the air and sticks to the road.

From Lime Rock Park in the Litchfield Hills of Western Connecticut to Laguna Seca Raceway just north of California's Monterey Bay, the BMW M3 has given sports car racing fans across North America reason to cheer since the first BMW of North America M3 racing program began in 1995.

With drivers such as Bill Auberlen, Boris Said and the legendary Hans Stuck, the BMW M3 dominated the GT classes of sports car racing in the States into the new millennium with two generations of BMW M3 (E36 and E46), winning 53 of 118 races entered.
